With free agency coming this Sunday, June 30, Kawhi’s destination of choice is still up in the air. Even with all the speculation of Kawhi either choosing the Raptors or Clippers, his camp has been very quiet since the season ended.
One thing though that is happening is Kawhi has tentatively scheduled a meeting with the Clippers on July 2 according to Frank Isola of the athletic.
Kawhi Leonard has been closely linked to the Clippers for the last season, and now it’s almost time to see where he decides to go possibly Sunday or sometime in the upcoming weeks. Clippers are able to sign one superstar but would need to move somebody to make more room to sign a second superstar if that is the route they would like to go. Granted though adding Kawhi to the Clippers that already play his way: gritty and a blue-collar style would be an awesome addition.
Another thing is that Kawhi could repeat what he just did and take the Clippers deep into the playoffs and then the next year be an even more attractive destination to other players.
So now we wait and see what happens once free agency begins. Will Kawhi sign right away with Toronto or will he choose to come home to LA and join the Clippers.
