For longtime Clippers fans, this weekend was one that will definitely turn the franchise around and will hopefully bring much success in the upcoming years.

It all started with Kawhi Leonard choosing to sign a 4-year max deal with the Clippers and then right after that it was also announced that the Clippers traded for the 6 time all-star in Paul George as well.

Kawhi Leonard has been linked to the Clippers for the last couple years and for this to actually happen is a dream come true for Clippers fans after seeing what Kawhi Leonard was able to do last year, now he will be teamed up with another perennial All-Star and the upside is very tremendous. Kawhi Leonard is a very polished 2 way forward that is very passionate about his defensive ability which will pair nicely with the hard nose guard play of Beverly and Lou Will.

The surprise of the weekend was the blockbuster trade that involved the Thunder in trading Danilo Gallinari, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a whole package of picks for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Paul George. This acquisition was very under the radar but wow does Paul George pair very nicely with Kawhi Leonard. Paul George is a very elite 2-way player who won Defensive Player of the Year last season but also has a top tier offensive game in his arsenal averaging 28 points per game last season.

It is very cool to see the Clips retain the majority of the core guys from last years, 48 win squad, as well. SGA and Gallo win surely be missed but the upside on this new squad this coming season is very favorable for us Clipper fans.
