Predictions are fun in any sport, whether they are right or very wrong and this is the time for hockey critics/ fans to try and predict the upcoming season. Anything can happen between now and then as far as the organization goes.

Although I have no insider information, this is my predictions to what the Los Angeles Kings and Ontario Reign of the AHL opening night rosters will look like.

First, we have the Los Angeles Kings. Centers for the Kings are Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter, Trevor Lewis, and Nikolai Prokhorkin. The left-wingers include Ilya Kovalchuk, Alex Iafallo, Austin Wagner and Kyle Clifford. Right-wingers are Dustin Brown, Tyler Toffoli, Sheldon Rempal, and Matt Luff. Drew Doughty leads the defenseman, along with   Alec Martinez, Derek Forbort, Sean Walker, Kurtis MacDermid, and Paul LaDue. Jonathan Quick and Cal Petersen are the goaltenders.

The Ontario Reign roster would look like this….

Michael Amadio, Jared Anderson-Dolan, Gabe Vilardi, Rasmus Kupari, and Blake Lizotte are the centers.

Left-wingers are comprised of Mario Kempe, Bokondji Imama, Samuel Fagemo, and Arthur Kaliyev. Martin Frk leads the short list of right-wingers, along with Johan Sodergran.

Defenseman are Joakim Ryan, Matt Roy, Daniel Brickley, Kale Clague, Markus Phillips, and Sean Durzi. Jack Campbell and Cole Kehler are the Reign goaltenders.

Hockey is a weird sport to predict, with injuries, call ups and trades. The amount of time and discussion on who will be on the roster is unbelievable. The roster spots also depend on the players themselves and who wants it more. How much do you agree or disagree with?

Let me see what changes you would make or show me your rosters for the Kings and Reign. Training camp opens in a couple of short weeks and it will surely be busy from then on.

I don’t see Jack Campbell in Ontario. He has proven he is NHL worthy. Plus you want Cal to develop right? That’s not gonna happen sitting on the bench in the show. He need to start in the AHL and be the best goalie down there.

Do you think Quick will still be a king by the trade deadline? I think Blake is gonna wait and see what contenders have goalie troubles then he will pull the trigger.

Jack Campbell has proven his worth to the Kings but they have a log jam in the crease with Quick and Petersen there as well. I think they want to give more NHL time to Petersen to see exactly what they have, even if its only for a short time. I do see Quick maybe being moved during this rebuild and the Kings going with Campbell and Petersen either this year or next. I would be more than comfortable with Campbell and Petersen in net for the future of the Kings.
