LeBron James has an opportunity to accomplish something special this year. Last summer, James signed with the Lakers as a free agent and joined the greatest franchise in the NBA.
The Lakers have had some of the greatest players throughout the years from Jerry West to Wilt Chamberlain to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Magic Johnson to Shaq and Kobe Bryant and now LeBron James. Every great Laker has won a championship and LeBron is next to achieve that feat.
LeBron James has a chance to pass Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett in all-star selections with his 16th this year. James also will probably pass Kobe Bryant on the all-time scoring list. James needs a little over a thousand points to pass Bryant and become the third greatest scorer in NBA history. If LeBron averages above 25 ppg for the duration of his Laker contract, he will surpass Kareem as the number 1 scorer in NBA history.
The biggest accomplishment for LeBron James would be leading this Lakers team to it’s 17th NBA title and his 4th title. James could be the only superstar player to ever win 3 titles with 3 different teams. The NBA this upcoming season has as much parity as it ever had. The western conference is loaded with about 10 very good teams. The league is spread out with dynamic duos and no more super teams.
The stage is set for James and Davis to dominate and win the championship next season.
