There was plenty of movement this week for the Los Angeles Kings, as preseason gets underway and the transactions begin. All transactions are via NHL.com.
With this being said, let’s jump right into what the Kings did this past week.

On September 18, the Kings announced that Ron Hextall would be rejoining the team, this time as a part-time advisor to hockey operations. Hextall was with the Kings before, serving as a Vice President and assistant general manager for 7 years.

On the same day the Kings assigned the following players to their junior teams; Aidan Dudas (Owen Sound OHL), Jacob Ingham (Kitchener OHL), Arthur Kaliyev (Hamilton OHL), Lukas Parik (Spokane WHL) and Jordan Spence (Moncton QMJHL). The Kings also released Billy Constantinou and Jonathan Yantsis from their ATO.

September 21 saw the Kings assign Akil Thomas to Niagra of the OHL and Samuel Fagemo to Frolunda of the SHL.

The Kings sent a large group to the AHL Ontario Reign and that lists include Daniel Brickley, Sean Durzi, Boko Imama, Matt Luff, Markus Phillips, Sheldon Rempal, Johan Sodergran, Matthew Villalta, Kale Clague, Mike Eyssimont, Cole Kehler, Brad Morrison, Chaz Reddekopp, Drake Rymsha and Austin Strand. Assigned to the Reigns camp were Mason Bergh, Brett Sutter, Lance Bouma, Max Gottlieb, and Ryan Stanton.

Yesterday the Kings sent Cal Petersen, Mikey Anderson and Martin Frk (cleared waivers) to the Reign.

This trims down the roster completely. However more cuts to finalize the roster are due this week before the start of the regular season.
This Kings team, in my opinion, is going to surprise some people. Were you surprised by any of the players assigned? Who do you want to stay with the Kings?
