The pre-season is now complete and it is time to turn it up 1000%. We have patiently waited and the season starts today.
Ahead is the 2019-20 roster for your Los Angeles Kings. However, first, there were a few more transactions before the final roster was set, including one that may be surprising to some.
On September 27, The Kings assigned Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Rasmus Kupari to the AHL Ontario Reign. The Kings defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 to end the pre-season with a record of 4-2-1.
September 28 saw the Kings assign Nikolai Prokhorkin to Ontario.
September 29 The Kings made their final transactions, waiving Paul Ladue and Mario Kempe. LaDue and Kempe cleared waivers and were sent to Ontario.
Below is the roster for your 2019-20 Los Angeles Kings…
Forwards (13) – Michael Amadio, Dustin Brown, Jeff Carter, Kyle Clifford, Carl Grundstrom, Alex Iafallo, Adrian Kempe, Ilya Kovalchuk, Anze Kopitar, Trevor Lewis, Blake Lizotte, Tyler Toffoli, and Austin Wagner.
Defensemen (8) – Tobias Bjornfot, Drew Doughty, Ben Hutton, Kurtis MacDermid, Alec Martinez, Matt Roy, Joakim Ryan, and Sean Walker.
Goaltenders (2) – Jack Campbell and Jonathan Quick
The season is here and, in my opinion, the reason for optimism. This team is better, faster and younger. The Kings, as it stands now, should compete for a playoff spot this year. The Kings are in a division where it seems to be for the picking and who is to say the Kings cannot surprise some people and make a solid run in the playoffs?
As we all know, the regular season is important but the real quest is in the playoffs and all you need to do is grab one of those 8 spots. After that anything can happen.
