After playing the first four games of the season in Los Angeles, the Lakers will now travel for a three-game road trip. The team will travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks Friday night, then the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, and will finalize this trip in Chicago against the Bulls on Tuesday.
What should we expect from the team on this road trip?
In the first game against Dallas, Kyle Kuzma will be making his season debut. We should expect him to play in minutes restriction, being this his first time playing basketball since August. That would probably mean that Kuzma’s role, at least for the beginning of the season, would be coming off the bench. That implies that we will see some changes at the rotations, and it should be interesting to watch. The game against the Mavericks will be an interesting matchup for the Lakers, as they face rising stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Besides the fact that it will be fun to watch, it will be compelling to see how LeBron James and Anthony Davis match up with them.
The Lakers will then face the San Antonio Spurs. Facing the Spurs will always be a challenge, with DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Gregg Popovich, San Antonio will always give their opponents a good game. That’s why we should expect a close and exciting game.
The Lakers are a good bet this season and you can find NBA spreads, best bets and more at BetQL.
Finally, against the Bulls, it will be interesting how Frank Vogel will decide to manage his rotation. This will be the final game of a three-game road trip, and if the results are as expected, we may see some rest for the Lakers’ superstars. Chicago hasn’t lived up to their expectations thus far, and the Lakers game could be very revealing for both sides.
We should expect the Lakers to win at least two games on this road trip. Everything below that would be a disappointment, even though it’s early on the season.
