With the expectations before the season being relatively low for some people and some being higher than expected for others, the 2019-20 season for the Los Angeles Kings has not started off the very well.
At this very moment, the Kings sit in 30th with 20 points and a 9-13-2 record (7-5-1 at home and 2-8-1 on the road). The Kings are last in the division and in the conference. Horrible? Not as bad as some may think. There are some positives, in my opinion, to the season so far with the record they currently have.
The Kings are 4-4-2 in their last 10 games. The Kings have only been blown out once, an 8-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. They have been shut out a few times already this year, but even then, the losses have been very close. The Kings have kept games close, shots close, played physical Kings hockey and are only 8 points out of a Wild Card spot.

Those on the outside looking at the Kings 9-13-2 record may think the team is horrible. However, even though they haven’t played to the fans’ and organization’s expectations, the Kings have been in just about every game and maybe only a few moves away from really competing for a playoff, not Wild Card, spot. The competitive level is there as with all of Coach McLellan coached teams.
There is still a lot of the season to go and for the Kings to make a real push. What has been said before rings true- all you have to do is make the playoffs and anything can happen.
We have seen this play out before, right Kings fans? This team has not given up on the season and our fans should not either.
