As this decade closes, the Los Angeles Kings had a couple of good years during that span, winning 2 Stanley Cups.

However, those 10 years came and gone without a wink. The Kings franchise had some special players during that span. Some of those players are etched in Kings’ history forever. As we look forward to the future, we take a minute to look at the past.

Look back now as, in my opinion, is the Kings’ roster of the past decade.

Centers

Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter, Trevor Lewis, and Alex Iafallo. Great depth at this position, plus a little bit of everything with all 4 players.

Left-Wingers

Kyle Clifford, Adrian Kempe, Dwight King, and Tanner Pearson. Quality at this position but no All-Stars.

Right-Wingers

Dustin Brown, Marian Gaborik, Teddy Purcell, and Justin Williams. Some of the best RW in Kings’ history.

Defensemen

Drew Doughty, Paul LaDue, Alec Martinez, Willie Mitchell, Jake Muzzin and Jack Johnson. I would put this solid core up against any NHL line.

Goaltenders

Jonathan Quick and Peter Budaj

The Kings have had some really good teams throughout the decade, as 2 Stanley Cups will tell you. As the Kings have hit a bit of a rough patch the past couple of years, we are positive.

Why? Because we head into a new decade, with new hope and new memories to be made.

Another Stanley cup, or two, would be nice but let’s not get too far with our thoughts before this season is over as the boys have work to do.

What would your roster look like from the past 10 years?
