Akil Thomas is one of the brighter prospects in the Los Angeles Kings organization.
Hockey player, entrepreneur and Canadian hero are just three words to describe how talented is a kid Thomas is.
Akil Thomas was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings 51st overall in the 2018 draft. Thomas has his own clothing line, Zale Apparel, and it is doing quite well. When he is not bringing in profits he is bringing people out of their seats.
Currently playing for the Niagra IceDogs of the OHL, he has 44 points (15 goals and 29 assists) in 27 games. He has been one of the more productive forwards in the OHL in the past couple of years. His dedication to his craft, on and off the ice, as well as his work ethic, are top-notch.
Today he can be considered a superior prospect in the Kings organization and a Canadian hero.
Akil Thomas scored the game-winning goal in Canada’s win over the Russians in the past weekend’s IIHF World Juniors tournament. Thomas, who’s ice time was only about 4 minutes in the gold medal game, scored the goal in the 3rd period while falling to the ice. For the tournament he had 2 points, 1 goal and 1 assist, in 7 games.
Akil Thomas might be arriving in Los Angeles full time quicker than people think. His game is not flashy but at the end of the game, he produced points and helped his team win in some fashion. He does have the top 6 potentials in the NHL, now we await his arrival.
