Anthony Davis has missed the last few games with a bruised tailbone and the Lakers are 4-1 in that stretch without him.

LeBron James has been spectacular as he continues to lead the league in assists with 10.9 APG. The Lakers are still the number 1 seed in the Western Conference with a 34-8 record and look to continue to be dominant on the road.

The Lakers will look to add Rajon Rondo and Anthony Davis on this road trip at some point.

Contributions have come from everyone in the last 5 games, as Kyle Kuzma has stepped up in Davis’s absence and has been great on both ends of the floor.

Kuzma has averaged 20 PPG in the last five games. The Lakers bench has stepped up and made plays on both ends of the floor. Anthony Davis’s return will be key to see if Kuzma can still play with the same effort and energy that he plays with as a starter.

LeBron James has had to carry the load offensively in the last few games and this road trip should be a lesser workload offensively. The Lakers will play the Celtics, Knicks, Nets, and 76ers on this road trip. If Davis can return for the Knicks or Nets, LeBron James will be fine.

The season has come to its midpoint and the Lakers need to preserve LeBron James as much as they can before the playoffs begin.
