The Angels and Dodgers were not able to come to an agreement on a deal after the Dodgers had problems with their other trades with the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox.
The Angels have acquired 1x All-Star Outfielder Joc Pederson, RHP Ross Stripling and a minor leaguer from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Infielder Luis Rengifo and two minor leaugers.
Joc Pederson, is 27 years old and was an 11th round pick out of Palo Alto High School in Palo Alto, California by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Pederson is expected to be the Angels Right Fielder after hitting .249/.339/.548, with 16 Doubles, 3 Triples, and 36 Home Runs while driving in 74 Runs in 149 Games.
The Angels will have 1 year of control over Joc Pederson as he is Arbitration eligible for the final time in his career. He was scheduled to go to arbitration with the Dodgers, but the Angels can come to an agreement with him before the scheduled hearing. Pederson has appeared in 6 seasons in the big leagues and has a career slash-line of .233/.339/.538, with 108 Doubles, 7 Triples, 123 Home Runs while driving in 287 Runs in 705 Games.
INF Luis Rengifo will be going to the Dodgers after the Angels acquired him from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for 1B C.J. Cron in March, 2018. Rengifo spent the 2018 season in the minors and made his MLB debut the next season on April 25th, 2019. He ended up appearing in 108 games and worked a slash-line of .238/.321/.364, while hitting 18 Doubles, 3 Triples, and 7 Home Runs with 33 Runs driven in.
The Trade is reportedly not complete as the Angels are expected to acquire a big league Starting Pitcher with both teams expected to get a minor leaguer.
