For the Los Angeles Kings, this season has been more downs than ups. The Kings just haven’t found a way to keep it all together…until recently.

The Kings are one of the hottest teams right now, winning 6 in a row and are 7-2-1 in their last 10 but what is the reasoning for their turnaround?

One has to question where was these results when the season began? There may be a few reasons for that turnaround and those reasons came after the trade deadline. The Kings brought up Gabe Vilardi and Mikey Anderson, along with winger Martin Frk. These moves brought in fresh faces, speed, energy, and scoring- something the club desperately needed.

Vilardi made his NHL debut and scored his first NHL goal in the same game. He has not looked out of place and is something we thought we would never see with the injury bug biting him soon after he was drafted. He has produced 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points in 9 games so far.

Mikey Anderson has made his NHL debut since then, and he scored his first NHL goal as well. Martin Frk has done very well, scoring 5 goals and adding 2 assists for 7 points in 16 games. Kurits MacDermid has brought the stay-at-home, toughness style of play the Kings needed on the blueline and he looks pretty comfortable back there.

This is what the Kings needed going into the last of the season and looking toward the 2020-21  season. The turnaround is happening because there is new blood, something the Kings needed to see something from their young guns.

If these past 6 games are any indication on the years to come then the Kings will be A Stanly Cup contender again real soon.
