The Lakers played the Miami Heat on December 13 in Miami. The Heat were undefeated at home with a 10-0 record and the Lakers were coming off a tough win against the Orlando Magic

The Lakers broke the Heat’s home streak with a great performance by their two stars combining for 61 points collectively.

2) Lakers vs Houston Rockets // 01/18/20

The Lakers played the Houston Rockets on January 18 on primetime Saturday night. The Lakers were without Anthony Davis for the 5th straight game. LeBron James led the Lakers with 31 points and 12 assists over an opponent that the Lakers could meet in the playoffs.

3) Lakers vs Boston Celtics // 02/23/20

The Lakers and Celtics are the greatest rivalries in sports and neither team wanted to be swept by each other. Both teams met on a Sunday afternoon on February 23rd. Jayson Tatum seemed unstoppable until the 4th quarter. LeBron James made a clutch fadeaway jumper to give the Lakers the lead. This was one of the best games of the year.

4) Lakers vs Milwaukee Bucks // 03/06/20

The Lakers’ biggest game at this point was against the Milwaukee Bucks, the league’s best team. The MVP race was starting to get closer and an amazing performance by LeBron James could put him in the lead.

LeBron James took the challenge to guard Giannis and also was aggressive when Giannis guarded him. James dominated with 37 points and 8 assists. The Lakers had proven themselves against the best team in the NBA.

5) Lakers @ Los Angeles Clippers // 03/08/20

The battle of LA has been talked about all season. The Lakers and Clippers have started a rivalry and the Clippers have the edge in 2 games against the Lakers.

LeBron James has underperformed in 2 games against the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard. LeBron James and Anthony Davis stepped up and dominated by combining for 58 points.

The Lakers made a statement and LeBron James took the lead in the MVP race with his performance.
