Drew Doughty is a one of a kind player.

Doughty has a comical personality but is a beast on the ice.

A winner in every sense of the word, Doughty is a for sure Hall of Famer.

What are his top 5 moments as a member of the Los Angeles Kings?

Let’s evaluate.

1) Draft

Being drafted by Los Angeles in the first round, 2nd overall, in the 2008 NHL draft was a pick that would change the future of the Kings franchise. A well-rounded defenseman who takes the game seriously.

2) 2009 All-Rookie Team

Doughty was voted to the 2009 All-Rookie team. That season he played 82 games and produced 16 goals and 43 assists for 59 points and 54 penalty minutes, which those totals would be a normal season for Doughty.

3) 2-Time Stanley Cup Winner

2-time Stanley Cup winner in 2011-12 and again in 2013-14. Wins over the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers brought Doughty and the Kings the ultimate prize.

4) Norris Trophy Winner

Doughty was awarded the Norris Trophy for the NHL’s best defensemen in 2015-16. He registered 14 goals and 37 assists for 51 games and 52 penalty minutes.

Although he only has one Norris to his credit he certainly has the ability to win more awards before retiring.

5) All-Star Games

He is rewarded year after year for his efforts by his peers, being selected to the All-Star game from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. His appearances are rewards for his inspired play during the first half of the season.

During these 5 All-Star games, he registered 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points, clearly pointing out he can also produce against the leagues best.

Those are 5 top Drew Doughty moments since his NHL debut. I’m sure there are more so let me see what you have.
