The Los Angeles Kings just keep adding to their already rich, talented prospect pool.

The Los Angeles Kings signed both Winger Arthur Kaliyev and Defensemen Jordan Spence to 3-year, entry-level contracts, making them available to make their pro debuts next season.

Arthur Kaliyev

Kaliyev, the Kings 2nd round pick (33rd overall) in the 2019 NHL draft, has the potential to be an elite, Alex Ovechkin type NHL sniper. He has the best goal-scoring touch amongst the Kings’ prospects and he has shown that since his OHL debut. Last season, the 6-2, 190lb winger recorded 44 goals and 54 assists for 98 points in 57 games but also had 16 power-play goals.

Don’t let his goal-scoring take away from his playmaking ability as his passing is underrated. Look for Kaliyev to make his NHL debut soon, with him being the Kings goal-scoring leader for years to come

Jordan Spence

Jordan Spence kind of flies under the radar, although he shouldn’t because he is a talent that everyone in the Kings organization should keep their eyes on. The Kings’ 4th round selection (95th overall) in the 2019 NHL draft, recorded 9 goals and 43 assists for 52 points in 60 games, to go along with a +49 rating in the 2019-20 season with the QMJHL Moncton Wildcats.

This production earned him the QMJHL Emile Bouchard Trophy as the league’s best defensemen. Could slot in as a solid top 4 defensemen to take some pressure off of Drew Doughty as the top point producer amongst Kings defensemen.

The Kings are so deep in prospects that the Kings and Ontario Reign should have better seasons ahead. These prospects aren’t just prospects, they are future Kings leaders with tons of potential.
Keep your shades on Kings fans – The future is just that bright.
