When Davis and James are dominant, the Lakers are tough to beat.

Anthony Davis’s defense has been great in pick and roll situations and being able to switch to cause misses. The Lakers effort to not allow easy baskets at the 3 point line has been huge. Portland Trail Blazers are shooting 33% from 3 so far in 3 games.

Damian Lillard is shooting 31.6% from 3 so far in this series. Lillard was shooting lights out prior to the playoffs and seemed unguardable for the Lakers without Avery Bradley.

The Lakers have played great team defense by not allowing Lillard to get in rhythm outside of the 4th quarter in game 1. Frank Vogel has a great game plan to limit the Blazers offense and the Lakers need to continue to execute defensively to win the series.

Defense wins championships.
The NBA offense today is so good that you can’t hold great teams under 100 points; if you can hold them in the low 40% from the field and low 30% from 3, then you have a chance.
