The Los Angeles Lakers are the 2019-2020 NBA champions.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Lakers to their 17th NBA title. It took the Lakers nearly an entire year to finish the season due to the pandemic but in a bubble, the Lakers overcame all odds and won.

LeBron James was awarded his 4th Finals MVP and his 3rd title with a third team.

Anthony Davis finally captures his first title in his 8th season.

LeBron James stated after defeating the Houston Rockets that the goal for this Lakers team is to be the best defensive team in the league. Frank Vogel has always been a defensive genius and with the talent that the Lakers possess, he can bring the best out of this team. LeBron James bought in from day one to compete defensively every single game. James’s dedication to the defensive end elevated his teammates to be better on defense throughout the season.

Anthony Davis wanted to be a Laker for one reason, to win a championship. Davis’s numbers for the New Orleans Pelicans rank with some of the greatest Power Forwards ever but he needed to do it on a championship team. Anthony Davis led the team offensively with LeBron James becoming a full-time point guard. Davis should have won the defensive player of the year but he definitely was the best defensive player in the playoffs.

This Lakers team is special due to the brotherhood the team has. This team is connected on and off the floor. The leadership of LeBron James was on full display this year.

The 2019-2020 championship is the toughest title to win in Lakers’ history. Every player and coach contributed to winning the championship.
The Lakers are back on top of the NBA.
