The time has come for hockey fans for the 2020-21 season for the Los Angeles Kings.

We have been waiting almost a year for this very moment.

This season will be a weird one for sure, and I am here for the chaos. Here are some of my predictions for the upcoming season.

The King to score the most goals this season will be Alex Iafallo with 25 goals.

He is due for a breakout season, and he will thrive on it not being a normal season.

Anze Kopitar

The Kings’ leader in both assists and points will be (shocker) Anze Kopitar. His 40 assists will lead the team, and so will his 60 points. He has led the team in scoring basically since his arrival, and that will not change.

Adrian Kempe and Kurtis MacDermid

Adrian Kempe and Kurtis MacDermid will lead their positions in penalty minutes. Kempe and his 52 minutes will lead the forwards, and MacDermid’s 74 will lead all defensemen.

Cal Petersen

Cal Petersen, not Jonathan Quick, will lead the Kings in wins with 23. Petersen and Quick, who will lead in goals-against average, will play approximately 50% of each game.

There are many games in a short amount of time, so there won’t be one goalie playing a lot of back-to-backs.

Pierre-Luc Dubois

The Kings acquire Columbus Blue Jackets Center, Pierre-Luc Dubois. He wants out of Columbus, and the Kings have a surplus of young prospects that could be sent to Columbus.

Lastly, the Kings will win 1 round in this season’s Stanley Cup playoffs. They are poised to make noise, which would be the season to catch other teams and the league off guard.3

The Kings sent 14 players to the AHL Ontario Reign, including Tyler Madden.

What are your predictions for the Kings this year?
