The west coast is home to plenty of sporting legends, donning leading titles in NBA, NFL, and many more, and – finally – recent data reveals who CA’s most celebrated sporting icon is.
A new study by TopUSCasinos.com uses recent Wikipedia search data to investigate California’s biggest sporting icons throughout history and who is still the most celebrated to this day and the results are in.

Methodology
To rank California’s top five hometown heroes, TopUSCasinos.com first collected data around the state’s most successful and prodigious athletes from Bleacher Report. From here, they analyzed each athlete’s Wikipedia page to assess visits during a twelve-month period between March 2020-March 2021.
The athlete with the most page views during this time is considered their state’s leading hometown hero, with the next four making up the top five.
