LAFC just came off a 4-0 thrashing of Sporting Kansas City this past Friday night.
With two goals and a stellar performance on defense, there was no doubt Mamadou Fall was the man of the match.
Fall helped cut a nine-game no-win streak for LAFC. Getting the win without their star players in Carlos Vela, injured, and Diego Rossi was critical. Proving that this team can win without them. As mentioned, two goals scored by Fall, one by Cristian Arango and another via a penalty by Eduardo Atuesta, was enough for LAFC.
Also, Sporting Kansas City saw a red card in the 58th minute to Roger Espinoza. Making it difficult for KC to tie the match up and having to play more defensive.
If this team can start to click on all cylinders and play as they did on Friday, they are a tough team to beat.
Mamadou Man of the Match

Would you believe that an 18-year-old was responsible for helping LAFC get back into the win column? With two powerful headers off two set pieces, Mamadou Fall has LAFC fans chanting his name. In the 18th minute, after a beautiful ball sent by Atuesta from the left corner kick side, Fall was the only one who leaped high enough and headered the ball into the back of the net.
In the 61st, just minutes after Sporting KC saw a red card, another wonderful ball by Atuesta allowed Fall to get into the box and header once again another goal. The 18-year-old also played a tremendous defensive game, limiting Alan Pulido from causing hardly any damage. There is no doubt that LAFC fans will not forget Mamadou Fall’s name after his stellar performance last Friday.
Hopefully, the Start of a Good Run
LAFC will hope to keep the momentum from this victory as they welcome Real Salt Lake, who defeated FC Dallas last Saturday 3-2. LAFC has taken the two previous games from Real Salt Lake and will look for the regular-season sweep against them. Sitting at the middle of the Western Conference table, a victory would put them tied in points with Real Salt Lake. It would also put them in the final MLS playoff spot, but many know this team is better than that.
Hopefully, this can be the start of a good run and help them get into a higher and favorable position for the MLS playoffs. With 12 more matches left, LAFC needs to get going. They need to be inspired by this spectacular performance of an 18-year-old kid putting the team on his back against Sporting KC.
