The Los Angeles Lakers lost their 3rd straight game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday Primetime. The Lakers played their best game of the season and competed until the very end against the second best team in the west. The struggles at the free throw line continued for the Lakers, as they missed 11 free throws. LeBron James had a chance to tie the game and fell short with a surprising 9-27 shooting night.

Frank Vogel found a style of play that was executed very well. A triple post offense featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. This offense is a form of bully ball that led to the Lakers shooting 46% from the field and 40% from three. This style of play slowed the game down and allowed the Lakers to set their defense and held the Warriors to 44% from the field and 31% from three per nba.com. The Lakers rank 10th in point scored per game and if they can continue this play, they will win more games.

The trade deadline is over and the only help on the way might be on the buyout market. The Lakers know they will participate in the play-in tournament and probably play either the Warriors or the Suns in the first round. LeBron James and Anthony Davis at their best is a problem for anyone. The Lakers were up 2-1 last year in first round until Davis was injured for the rest of the series.

The Lakers are in a tough spot but all hope is not lost. The leadership on this team will be huge down the stretch of the season. Can the Lakers right the ship and win the play-in tournament?
