Should We be Worried About These Preseason Results

Throughout this year’s preseason LAFC has yet to win a match against any of their opponents. Continuing with the trend they lost last night in Indio, CA to D.C United by a score of 2-0. Thus having some fans reinforcing the statement that Steve Cherundolo was a bad hire. Their first preseason match they tied 1-1 with the Revolution and have gone to lose the next two. Losing 2-1 to Toronto FC and last night’s 2-0 loss to D.C United. Is this a worrisome sight or are we getting too over our heads. It can be a mixture of both, Cherundolo has yet to have the full squad until this past week. Obviously preseason is to experiment and figure out who should be playing where. Cherundolo has just about 10 days before one of his toughest challenges commences, the MLS Season.

A Battle out in Indio

Last night LAFC continued with their preseason, this time training and having a friendly out in Indio, CA. A very long way from home they were. Although they did not come out victorious in last night’s match they were finally able to get a game with their full squad. After all the players who were on international duty returned to the club. LAFC started the match with an attacking trio of Opoku, Carlos Vela and Brian Rodríguez, with Latif Blessing, Ilie Sánchez and José Cifuentes in the midfield. Newcomer Maxime Crépeau was in goal, and manned a defense that featured Franco Escobar, Jesus Murillo, Mamadou Fall and Diego Palacios. As you can see their first matchup with what can be their possible starting eleven. LAFC will have one more match this weekend facing off against the New York Red Bulls before wrapping up the preseason and getting ready for their league debut.
