Chiellini Gets Another Start

It was a great weekend for the Black and Gold. Getting their sixth win on the road while also making it back to back road wins. This week’s victim would be the struggling Sporting Kansas City, who sit last in the Western Conference. Once again Giorgio Chiellini would be included in the starting eleven.  These starts will be crucial as Chiellini begins to settle with the team and get the necessary reps he needs to be at 100%. The first half would actually start off really well for the home team. As they dominated the first 15 minutes of the match but were not able to find the back of the net. LAFC would almost open up the scoring in the 44th minute. A tremendous goal line clearance by the Kansas defender denied Cifuentes of another goal. The two teams would enter the half tied at nil.

Arango Wins The Game For LAFC

In the second half LAFC would continue in search of a goal to give them the lead. It would not take long as 10 minutes had just passed when Chicho was able to find the back of the net. A powerful blast from Chicho Arango opened up the scoring for LAFC. This would be Chicho’s team leading 9th goal of the season putting him ahead of Vela by three goals. In the 65th minute the landscape would shift as Gareth Bale would enter the match. Gareth has felt and looked confident on the pitch and it was only a matter of time before he nabbed his first goal for LAFC. In the 82nd minute the moment would actually happen. As Bale would get a left footed shot off and squeaked it past the goalkeeper. Scoring his first goal in MLS and his first goal for LAFC! However, this victory would not be possible without Chicho Arango. The Columbian played a pivotal role as he opened up the scoring and provided the assist for Gareth Bale’s first goal in MLS. With this win LAFC returns to the top of the Western Conference table and continues being the top team in all of MLS.
