Building on more than a decade of partnership, the Masons of California, in affiliation with Angels RBI, are proud to announce that they have raised $36,072 this season for youth development programs in Orange County through their signature Masons4Mitts baseball mitt drive.

Since launching the program in 2009, Masons of California donations have provided nearly 7,000 mitts to players in Orange County through Angels RBI and over 75,000 mitts to players across the state.

Each year, Masons4Mitts teams up with the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Diego Padres to purchase real, leather baseball mitts that are given, free of charge, to young ballplayers in junior baseball and softball leagues across California. Through these programs, Masons4Mitts and its partners provide children with a safe place to play while they develop key collaboration skills, learn about health and nutrition, build productive study habits, and more.

All told, the Masons of California raised more than $281,000 for these youth programs in 2022, a record high. Since its inception, Masons4Mitts has donated $1.78 million to its MLB partner foundations. In recognition of this achievement, leaders of the California Masonic Foundation and representatives of Angels RBI shared the field for a special pregame celebration and check presentation.

Among those present were:

  • Jeffery M. Wilkins, Grand Master of Masons of California
  • Doug Ismail, President of the California Masonic Foundation
  • Robert Eagle-Spirit, Deputy Grand Master of Prince Hall Freemasons in California
  • David Smith, President of Angels RBI League
