Remembering The Past

Well ladies and gentlemen it is official. We will have another version of El Trafico in the postseason! These two met in the 2019 campaign in a thrilling matchup where the black and gold won by a final of 5-3. No doubt the Galaxy are on the hunt for revenge and knocking out LAFC at home would be the icing on the cake. A few names remain from either side of that notable 2019 encounter. The biggest name being Carlos Vela. Followed by Latif Blessing and Eddie Segura who remain from that glorious night. Both clubs have a star-studded lineup that any team would envy.  Once again it will be an epic night to remember.

How Did We Get Here

How did we get another El Trafico in the postseason here’s how: LAFC finished 1st in the Western Conference with 67 points. Which gave them a first-round bye.  LA Galaxy managed to revert early season woes and qualified in 4th place with 50 points. The Galaxy would then have to welcome Nashville for a playoff match in order to advance. After a second half goal by Julian Araujo the Galaxy snuck by with a 1-0 win. Which is now putting us in this scenario. LAFC closes the season out very poorly going a whopping 4-5-1 with incredible losses to teams like the Dynamo and San Jose.  LAFC were fortunate enough to win against Portland as that win solidified them as the best team of the 22 season and giving them the Supporters’ Shield. A big concern heading into this match is that LAFC has been off for 11 days. While the Galaxy have only had five days off.  Especially coming off a highly emotional win the Galaxy could pull off the upset. The game still has to be played and ultimately anything that can happen will happen in these games. Vamos LAFC! Let’s Go LAFC!
