Los Angeles Football Club and Colorado Rapids shared a point at Dick’s Sporting Good Park. This was the second occasion the MLS 2022 champions salvaged a point this season.

Even Contest

Although the game ended in a 0-0 draw both teams had chances, but failed to score. The Rapids were dangerous mostly on set pieces. Colorado Rapids came the closest to notching in the first 45 minutes with a header inside the penalty box.

LAFC spent the majority of the game attacking when Carlos Vela and Denis Bouanga played wonderful football outside the box, but Bouanga shot went near the net. The away team continued to attack when Diego Palacios crossed the ball towards Vela who headed it. But the goalkeeper William Yarbrought denied it with a save.

In the second half, Colorado Rapids dominated the game where they had three chances to score from set piece. LAFC goalkeeper John McCarthy kept Los Angeles FC alive with three great saves. Even though LAFC struggled in the second half, the Black and Gold stood firm .

Trouble remains in Colorado

LAFC’s away record in Colorado is not good as they lost three times and won once in 2018. Overall LAFC record versus the Rapids is decent, both teams played an overall of nine games.

The Black and Gold won against Colorado Rapids five times, lost three, and drew once. So far LAFC remain undefeated this season and it looks like other teams will have a difficult task playing them.

LAFC will return to action this Wednesday when they visit Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions League at 7:00 p.m.
