Los Angeles Football Club player Carlos Vela is on top of the top-selling Adidas jerseys in the league sold on MLSstore.com.
No surprise Vela has been the most popular player at the club since he started in 2018.
Not only is Vela a popular figure, but his talent, experience, and performance have also been exceptional in the club and when he was on the Mexico National Team. To this day, LAFC supporters still admire the Mexican player on and off the pitch.
Nashville SC’s best players, Hany Hukhtar and U.S. international player Walker Zimmerman, are in second and third place. In fourth place is Chicharito Hernandez, another famous player in Mexico and for the LA Galaxy.
LAFC player Denis Bouanga is also among the top-selling player kits of the 2023 MLS season, ranked 16th.
Bouanga has scored 19 goals and 11 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions since joining LAFC on Aug. 25, 2022.
But the MLS club selling the most jerseys is Seattle Sounders, as five players are in the top 25. Jordan Morris (No.5), Cristian Roldan (No.12), Nicolas Lodeiro (No. 17), Raul Ruidiaz (No.21) and Joao Paulo (No. 25).
There are various reasons why top players’ kits get sold. Players such as Jordan Morris, Cristian Roldan, and Walker Zimmerman’s kits get sold the most because they have been featured for the U.S. Men’s National team. Meanwhile, players that have played in the World Cup, such as Javier Hernandez, Hany Mukhtar, and Carlos Vela’s kits, will be top-selling.
Players that have been the 2022 MLS All-stars and won Landon Donovan MLS MVP Awards their kits will be top-selling. Additionally, if a player performs well in two consecutive seasons or more, their kits will be top selling.
Carlos Vela is on top because he participated in the MLS all-stars, won individual awards, and was featured at a world cup. Before coming to LAFC, he played in one of the top five best leagues in the world, La Liga, for Real Sociedad. Therefore it shows why Vela finds himself atop the list of top-selling Adidas jerseys in the league.
