On Saturday night, Los Angeles Football Club lost against Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club in an epic 3-2 at the BMO Stadium.

Although the Whitecaps got their first road win in a long time, it wasn’t a good day for LAFC after two straight wins against Sporting Kansas City and Seattle Sounders. LAFC performances weren’t great, and they got a reality check against the Whitecaps.

The visiting team decided to go for the attack instead of cowering in a defensive shell and hoping to limit chances for the opposition. After two minutes of play, Whitecaps took an early lead with a Ranko Veselinović header.

LAFC’s struggles continued as they conceded a few shots in the first 20 minutes. The Whitecaps didn’t surrender as Brian White scored his seventh goal of the season. Before halftime, LAFC responded with Denis Bouanga, who struck the ball into the bottom left corner.

Going to the second half, the Black and Gold were in the ascendancy to draw the match. Until Ryan Gauld scored through LAFC goalkeeper John McCarthy’s legs. LAFC quickly responded through Carlos Vela, but it wasn’t enough to get the three points in the bag.

LAFC’s loss to Whitecaps is their second defeat at home this season. If LAFC were to win, they would be at the top of the Western Conference League.

Since the Black and Gold didn’t win, they remained in second place with a game in hand.

The MLS 2022 champions must focus on their next match against FC Dallas and respond with a victory. Manager Steve Cherundolo and the players must brush the defeat off since el Tráfico is around the corner.

It’s an important game for LAFC, and the fans want to see a reaction in the next two games.
