Los Angeles Football Club didn’t get the three points as Charlotte FC beat the 2022 MLS Cup Champions 2-1 at the Bank of America Stadium.
After a four-unbeaten streak, the Black and Gold lost for the first time against Charlotte, equalizing the series 1-1.

Going to the game, LAFC took the lead, but Denis Bouangas’s goal was marked offside. Charlotte took the lead with Ashley Westwood’s goal from inside the area.

In the second half, the Black and Gold equalized through Mario Gonzalez’s first-ever goal for the club. Charlotte retook the lead eight minutes later as Scott Arfield scored the game-winner.

In the last ten minutes of the second half, LAFC had the most chances to get the equalizer or even the victory. However, their end product wasn’t there, and now they lost their 7th game this season.

LAFC remains in second place in the Western Conference League (8th overall) with 40 points, just four points behind Saint Louis City.

The next game for LAFC will be at BMO Stadium on September 3 when they face Inter Miami.

This match will be their third meeting, as LAFC has beaten them twice with scores 1-0 and 2-0. However, since LeoMessi’s arrival, Inter Miami has won nine games in all competitions.

This game will be good to watch since Miami won the League Cup, and LAFC is the 2022 MLS Cup Champions.
