Hugo Lloris has landed in Los Angeles

Former Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Llrois arrives in Los Angeles after signing with the Black and Gold in December.

Los Angeles Football Club posted a video of the 38-year-old’s arrival in which he expresses his excitement towards playing for LAFC and MLS overall.

“Hi everyone, I just arrived, just landed in LA,” Lloris says in the clip. “I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates, to discover my new environment, and to meet the LAFC fans.”

Lloris is the third European star who has represented Los Angeles FC. His former teammate Gareth Bale helped the Black and Gold win the 2022 MLS Cup against Philadelphia Union before retiring from professional football. Giorgio Chiellini was the first European star to sign for LAFC and was part of the squad to win the 2022 MLS Cup. The Italian center-back retired days after the 2023 MLS final in which LAFC ended up losing 2-1 to Columbus Crew at Lower.com field.

The French international final game for Tottenham Hotspur was back in April, losing 6-1 to Newcastle United.

Divock Origi linked to LAFC

Talking about Hugo Lloris, he could be reunited with a certain footballer, a footballer who scored past him in the 2019 UEFA Champions Final. Divock Origi is wanted in MLS as LAFC, FC Dallas, and FC Cincinnati are set to battle for his signature.

The Belgian is having a hard time at Nottingham Forest although the attacker is contracted to AC Milan.

According to Sky Sports Nottingham Forest are ready to cut Origi’s loan from AC Milan, to allow the 28-year-old to join the MLS for the remainder of the season.

Origi only featured nine times and didn’t score a goal for Nottingham Forest. According to Tom Bogert, the Belgian has been offered to several clubs in MLS but no MLS team appears to be close to signing Origi at the moment.

If Origi joins LAFC he will add depth in attack and extra quality on the field. Since Carlos Vela and Denis Bouanga could be leaving the club it’s time to look for replacements. My only issue with Origi is his finishing and decision-making in the final third.

Although he did well against Barcelona in the Champions League Semi-final in 2019 and scored in the Champions League final.

Also, he is known for the famous goal against Everton and scored a curial goal against Newcastle United, in a game that Liverpool needed to win to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title which Man City won in the end in the 2018/19 season.
