Darius Garland Makes Statement in Clipper Debut at Golden State

Darius Garland made his Clippers debut in the Bay Area against the Golden State Warriors.
Darius Garland, who was traded from Cleveland to the Clippers last month, made his debut with the Clippers last night against Golden State. Garland put up 12 points, going 4 of 9 from the field, though he had a team-high five turnovers.
With Kawhi Leonard, Derrick Jones Jr., and co. leading the way for the Clippers, the team has been on a roll, going 23-10 after starting the season at 6-21.
The Clippers have been playing. 500 the last couple of weeks, going 5-5 since the Harden/Garland trade, but have done so largely on the strength of their defense. Garland averaged 18 points, 6.9 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per game across 26 appearances in Cleveland this season, shooting 52.1% on 2-pointers, 36% on 3-point attempts, and 86.1% from the free-throw line.
Kawhi Leonard has also been hot lately for the Clippers. Kawhi had his career-high streak of 20+ points in 38 games.
With the season winding down very fast, Ty Lue wants his team to finish strong and hot.
The Clippers could finish as high as the 8th seed in the West, which no one thought possible at the start of the season.
