Chargers Linked to Sign Big Name Free Agents
With NFL free agency set to open next week, rumors suggest the Chargers are hoping to land some big-name players to help improve the team next season.
The Chargers have a $99 million cap to work with in free agency.
Here are some potential free agents that best fit the LA Chargers.
Center Tyler Linderbaum
Adding Linderbaum makes all the sense in the world for Los Angeles, and would be the perfect first step at strengthening the offensive line.
He’s been named to the Pro Bowl 3 times in his 4 years in the NFL.
Edge Rusher Trey Hendrickson
Adding Hendrickson is less about his age and more about scheme fit. Hendrickson has played defensive end in a 4-3 base scheme for his entire NFL career, but new Chargers defensive coordinator Chris O’Leary runs a 3-4 base scheme, meaning Hendrickson would play outside linebacker.
He was limited to 7 games in 2025 due to an injury. When healthy, he produces the league in sacks. Hendrickson led the NFL in sacks in 2024 and finished second in 2023, recording 17.5 each year.
It will be interesting to see what the Chargers do in free agency and who will best fit the Chargers’ needs heading into the 2026 season.
The Chargers will still be a competitive team with a talented roster, though there are minor concerns in some areas that need to be addressed this offseason.
