Kawhi Leonard Breaks Bob McAdoo Record for Consecutive 20+ Point Games in a Single Season

Kawhi Leonard has been playing like an MVP-caliber player the last couple of months of the season.
Most recently, Kawhi Leonard broke Bob McAdoo’s record for the most 20-point or more performances in the Clippers franchise history.
Though Kawhi Leonard has been dealing with an injury to begin the season, lately, Kawhi has been playing like an MVP-type player, a valuable key for the Clippers in its incredible turnaround late in the season to get the team back into a .500 record. Kawhi Leonard’s historic scoring run and the Clippers’ resurgence this season showcase his continued dominance and the team’s ability to overcome a poor start.
Leonard is averaging 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game this season, all while shooting 50.1% from the field, 37.8% from three, and 89.7% from the free throw line.
Kawhi Leonard’s 45-game streak of 20+ point games broke the Clippers franchise record previously held by Bob McAdoo. Leonard’s streak is now tied for the 24th longest in NBA history, matching Tracy McGrady and Karl Malone.
The Clippers have gone 28-13 after starting the season at 6-21. The Clippers are 34-34.
Ty Lue’s goal of going 35-20 the rest of the way is currently going even better for the Clippers than the team could’ve imagined.
