Chargers Sign Kayode Awosika
With the NFL offseason in full swing, the Chargers’ front office continues to add talent, targeting some of the top available free agents to strengthen an already loaded roster.
Most recently, Los Angeles signed guard Kayode Awosika.
Awosika joins the Chargers after spending the past four seasons in Detroit, where he was part of one of the league’s top offensive units.
A five-year NFL veteran, he originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Philadelphia in 2021.
After one season with the Eagles, he signed with the Lions, where he developed into a reliable contributor along the offensive line.
Over the course of his career, Awosika has appeared in 50 regular-season games, making 11 starts, and has seen action in four postseason contests. During his time in Detroit, he contributed to an offensive line that helped produce three 1,000-yard rushers and protected quarterback Jared Goff during multiple 4,000-yard passing seasons.
Awosika’s arrival adds valuable depth at the guard position—an area where the Chargers struggled last season—and gives the team additional flexibility as they continue to build out the offensive line.
