Dodgers Keep Finding Ways to Win
The Los Angeles Dodgers have faced challenge after challenge this season, yet they continue to show exactly why they are one of the best teams in baseball.
Even as injuries force key players out of the lineup and new obstacles arise weekly, the team refuses to let these problems slow them down.
Instead, the Dodgers consistently find ways to compete and stay on track.
Tyler Glasnow’s Injury Creates a Major Challenge
One of the biggest concerns for Los Angeles revolves around starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow. What first appeared to be a short-term injury has unfortunately developed into a much bigger deal. The Dodgers recently moved Glasnow to the 60-day injured list because he still has not been cleared to start throwing. A persistent back injury has completely stopped his rehab progress, leaving the team without one of its top pitchers.Β
When healthy, Glasnow is a huge part of the Dodgers rotation. His elite fastball and breaking pitches make him incredibly difficult to face. Losing him places a heavy burden on the rest of the staff, requiring other pitchers to step up and handle bigger moments until he is ready to return.
Roki Sasaki Delivers a Breakout Performance
Stepping into the spotlight when the team needed him most, Roki Sasaki recently delivered the dominant performance Dodgers fans had been waiting for. Sasaki threw seven scoreless innings, struck out 10 batters, and helped lead Los Angeles to a 1- 0 win over the Angels.
We saw a completely different version of Sasaki. He attacked hitters from the very first inning, mixed his pitches well, and stayed in control throughout the game. His splitter created consistent swings and misses, while his fastball kept hitters off balance.
Building confidence with every inning, Sasaki made it clear that he is finally starting to settle into the major leagues.
Max Muncy’s Scary Collision Ends with Good News
While the pitching staff earned attention, the Dodgers also experienced a scary moment on the field. Max Muncy collided with Diamondbacks first baseman Ildemaro Vargas while running through first base. The heavy impact sent both players to the ground, prompting trainers to rush onto the field as everyone waited for updates.
Thankfully, both players got up and walked away from the crash site. Muncy dealt with shortness of breath and was placed in concussion protocol purely as a precaution, while Vargas suffered bruises but avoided a more serious injury. The play served as a reminder of how quickly a baseball game can change and just how important depth is over a long season.
Freddie Freeman and Miguel Rojas Lead the Way
The Dodgers also received another memorable moment from Freddie Freeman. Freeman delivered a thrilling walk-off home run against the Angels, giving Los Angeles an exciting victory. Staying patient in a close game, he got the exact pitch he wanted and ended the game with one swing, reminding us why he remains one of the most dependable hitters in baseball.
Another highlight came from Miguel Rojas, who made an impressive defensive play that quickly spread across social media. Charging a slow ground ball, he scooped it up with his bare hand and fired a perfect throw to Freddie Freeman at first base for the out. The play looked nearly impossible in real time and showed the quick reactions and instincts that make him such a valuable infielder.Β
Depth Keeps the Dodgers Among Baseball’s Best
These memorable moments highlight why championship teams require more than star power. Every player on the roster has the opportunity to make an impact, whether through a big hit, a clutch pitch, or an amazing defensive play.
The Dodgers have successfully built a team capable of winning in a variety of ways. This depth has allowed them to remain successful despite injuries and constant change, which will always be part of the game.
Feeling the teamβs synergy as they step up in crucial moments is all the reminder their opponents need.
Los Angeles has what it takes to remain one of the strongest contenders in baseball this season.
