Breaking Down the LA Kings 2026-27 Schedule

We are one step closer to the 2026-27 NHL season as the Los Angeles Kings have revealed their schedule for the upcoming season.
The schedule may look different than in years past, with some twists and turns.
Regardless, the announcement brings some energy and excitement for the new season.
New players and a new coaching staff have fans optimistic for the new start.
The Kings will begin the new season against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on September 30th at 8 pm MT. Los Angeles then plays their home opener on October 6th at Crypto.com Arena against the dangerous Florida Panthers. Of their 12 games in October, five are at home.
Los Angeles has the rare distinction of not only playing back-to-back games, but 10 of them. They include a home-and-home series against the rival Anaheim Ducks in the Freeway Face-off on November 27 at the Honda Center in Anaheim. They then return home on November 28 to face the same Ducks. Seven of the back-to-back games will be two away games in two different cities.
Los Angeles will have two season-high seven-game home stands this season and will have the longest road trip of the season, a seven-game stretch that stretches from late January 2027 through early February.
The Kings play four games against every team in the Pacific Division, two at home and two on the road. This will account for 28 of the 84 games this season.
The Kings do get a bit of a break midway through the season as there is no two-week break for the NHL schedule this season, meaning no 4 Nations Face-off or no Winter Olympics.
Included in the 26-27 schedule are 14 Saturday home games, eight Wednesday home games, and seven Thursday games. The Kings have three months with 14 or more games, and two of those months have 15-plus games.
To close out the season, Los Angeles will play 31 games in 62 days, and those games could determine their playoff chances down the stretch. They will also play three matinee games this season, including one against the Buffalo Sabers in Buffalo on Halloween at 1 pm. The Kings do not play on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day this season.
Kind of a different look to the schedule this season for Los Angeles. Many different configurations make up this schedule, but they could be a welcome addition. The most critical part of the schedule comes in those 62 days where they play every other day to end the season. This is where the coaching staff and nutritionist will truly earn their money.
Los Angeles looks to make a statement this season, hoping to advance to the second round of the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs.
