A Rematch of the 2022 MLS Cup

The Black and Gold are set to face off against the Philadelphia Union for the Concacaf Champions League Semi-Finals.

Knowing what had transpired, look for the Union to go out and try and get some revenge. LAFC, on the other end, comes into this game after a tough battle against Nashville. A match they should have won but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.

What makes this most exciting is now, this will be a two-leg draw!

So they will play each other within a week if the intensity can be replicated; fans of not just the MLS but soccer are in for a treat. It also says that both teams come in on a high note. LAFC remains the only undefeated MLS club. Meanwhile, the Union thrashed their previous opponent, Toronto FC. Making this a highly anticipated matchup that is must-see tv.

Schedule Changes Due to CCL

With CCL being played this week, LAFC will have their game against the Houston Dynamo rescheduled to June 14th at 7:30 PM, which is a bummer because Houston has been playing at a highly competitive level. They have had a massive turnaround from last season, and it would have made a great game to watch.  We will have to wait and see what trajectory these two teams are on in June.

Ultimately it is the right choice, as MLS needs to have their teams fresh for the CCL final. Regardless of who wins, MLS will be represented in the final and could make history once again. Once again, it will be a last against Liga MX!
